Prior to Wednesday morning, we kindly request that all families review the important information below (also shared via School-Day on Fri. Sept. 1st):

  • School hours & Supervision:
    • Instructional Day: 9:10am-3:30pm
    • Supervision will take place daily from 8:55-9:10am and 3:30-3:45pm; students will not be supervised beyond the 15 minutes before and after school
    • Students arriving after 9:10am (including those in portables) must be brought to the front main doors and sign-in at the office
  • Arrival/Dismissal Areas and Parking:
    • Arrival/Dismissal Map
    • Oak Creek Parking Map/”Active Travel”
    • Classes will gather at their assigned arrival/dismissal areas at the beginning and end of each school day
    • Caregivers are asked to wait in the areas identified on the map (to support safe arrival and dismissal routines; to prevent disruption to student learning)
    • Please do not arrive on school property prior to 3:20pm; the instructional day ends at 3:30pm and full-use of the field and tarmac is required (to accommodate PE classes, DPA and outdoor learning)
    • Students and families are encouraged to use “active travel” when travelling to and from school
    • Authorized street parking is indicated on the Oak Creek Parking Map which was developed in partnership with Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region
    • The school parking lot is for Oak Creek staff and Rising Oaks Child Care staff and families only

  • Nut-Free/Scent-Free School:
    • Please ensure that lunches are nut-free and students are not bringing scented items with them to school
  • School Council: Seeking New Members!
    • Are you interested in getting involved at Oak Creek? We’d love to have you join us for our first School Council Meeting 
    • The date and time of our annual election and first meeting will be shared early in September
  • Student Class Placements
    • Information for the 2023-24 school year is available on School-Day
    • Classroom teachers will have a class sign and student list with them tomorrow morning at their Arrival/Dismissal location
  • Start-Up Information Package:
    • Please review the back to school information that was shared on School-Day on Friday, September 1st. There will be lots of important being shared with families to begin the school year and a number of forms must be completed and returned to the school
  • Meet the Family Event:
    • Thursday, September 14th from 6:00-7:00pm
